I haven't written in a while because, quite frankly, life has gotten too busy/complicated/tedious/uninspiring (pick one) to write about. For the most part we are mostly/sort of/sometimes (pick one) fine, but sometimes we are fabulous/horrible (you know the drill...pick one).
For the most part, I've stopped counting time in days and weeks, there are just too many. I now observe time in months -- months that we've been apart, months between visits, months until we will all be together again as a family...except that we never really will. Two sons are grown, and by the time my husband returns, another will have graduated. Time has become my enemy -- passing too slowly, or too quickly, but never at my preferred pace.
Who would have thought that the last six month would be more difficult than the first...

Praying for you and your family tonight. Love you Kelly.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Amy. I really appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteKellEy*. Sorry :-)
ReplyDeleteNo worries, cousin! :-)
ReplyDeleteSaw a teen challenge around New Orleans, LA and thought of you and Paul. As life's challenges occur, it is good to know that we are in God's hands. I just finished a book about a missionary who spent her first anniversary in Batavia, Java. She spent her first year with her husband coming a going for weeks/months away traveling in untraveled territory. He came home with his body down to skin and bones. He was able to stay home and recuperate, only to have both of them taken and put in separate Japanese concentration camps in 1943. Her husband died in the camp after several years. She lived in hers for 6 years until the war was over. God intervened on her behalf as she trusted in HIm.
ReplyDeleteI know that you and Paul are going through trials apart, but this is just a reminder that as you trust in Jesus daily, no matter how hard it seems in the natural, in the supernatural things are happening and you will be blessed by the Holy Spirit in the end. My prayers are with you and your family. We love you and know that God has great things in store for you because of your testimony.
(If interested, the title of the book is "Evidence Not Seen" by Darlene Deibler Rose. I'll bring it over next time we come, if you are interested in reading it.
Thanks for the much-needed perspective, Joyce. I wouldn't mind borrowing that book next time you come this way! :-)
