Perhaps "New Chicks in the Block" (cell block that is) would have been a more apt title, considering that the newest additions to the Morris Chicken Farm are currently in quarantine. The day before Thanksgiving, we traveled to Newman Lake to pick up a couple of Ameraucana pullets. The new girls, Alice (buff-colored) and Margaret (white), are a bit flighty, but otherwise, they are settling in quite nicely. We have started them on a preemptive worming regimen and look forward to integrating them into the flock in about four weeks.
